Episode 206 - Kwakwakwa’wakw filmmaker and entrepreneur (late) Barb Cranmer was inspired to make films drawn from the stories and traditions of her ‘Namgis ancestors on Vancouver Island. Her documentaries explore the rivers, language, art and history of her people.
Episode 207 - As a child, Inuk filmmaker Zacharias Kunuk would fall asleep listening to his mother’s stories about his ancestors. As an adult, he would turn one of those stories into the award-winning film Atanarjuat that opened the door for Indigenous language films.
